Windows 11

I just finished watching the Windows 11 Reveal Event on YouTube. As expected, the OS comes with many new features and changes — which you can read in detail at almost every tech site.

While I like the updated icons, redesigned apps, and improved UI/UX, what strikes me the most is the minimum hardware requirements to install or upgrade to Windows 11. Of all my 4 PCs at home, only one meets the requirements to run Windows 11 according to the “PC Health Check” app provided by Microsoft.

Thus, I believe the release of Windows 11 would expedite the hardware refresh cycle of consumers worldwide. This may be good for computer vendors and manufacturers in general. But, on the other hand, it could probably make the ongoing global chip shortage situation worse.

Anyway, another interesting topic is Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s closing remarks. He talked about Windows as a “platform to create platforms” that can be utilized by professionals and average users alike:

… With Windows you can consume apps and build apps. You can play games and design games. You can buy a PC and build a PC. You can join your community and create your community. You can buy from a business and start your own business …

I think Windows 11 strongly reflects Satya’s vision written in his “Hit Refresh” book — that he encouraged Microsoft to be about mobility of human experience. Now I can imagine the ability to work and travel more seamlessly thanks to the newly introduced features in Windows 11 such as docking, multitasking, snap layouts, and snap groups.

I am really excited to give Windows 11 a try. I also wonder how it will change the way people at PEA work over the next few years.

ถ้าสงสัยว่า highlight แล้วหน้าตาเป็นไง ก็คือได้ออกมาประมาณนี้ (ไม่รับประกันความถูกต้อง ไม่ควรใช้ในการอ้างอิง) 🙃

Windows 11 Essay with Parts of Speech Highlighted

ป.ล. หลังจากลองใช้บริการ highlight ในทั้งสองเว็บข้างบนก็พบว่ามันน่าจะ highlight ผิดเยอะพอสมควร อาจจะเพราะยังไม่เข้าใจ context ของข้อความที่เราแปะไปจริงๆ คิดว่าเอาไว้ดูเป็น guideline แล้วมานั่ง highlight เองน่าจะดีกว่า
