As we all know that Twitter is reaching its capacity and has decided to disable IM notification, Pagination, and also reduced the Twitter API request limit to 30 req./hr.

For IM notification, that's fine for me because I rarely use Twitter via IM. The real problem is with the 30 req./hr. limit, which causes Twhirl and all other desktop clients to get the "limit exceeded" every half an hour or so and that's very annoying.

So for me and a bunch of people who like to tweet often, web interface is our best alternative. I have been using Twitter web interface for a couple of days and found that it's quite OK. The only problem is I have to keep watching the tweets or it'll get pushed down to nowhere (because pagination is disabled and you cannot browse for older tweets).

But I don't like to keep switching between tabs to see/send tweets. I prefer a standalone client like Twhirl which has its own window. So I tweaked my Firefox just for one purpose -- Twitter

With some help from Stylish (for the look), GreaseMonkey (for automatic reloading), and Aero Fox (for the theme), I've made a twitter web client so called "FireTwitter".

Here's how it looks like:

So far I'm happy with this solution. The 20 latest tweets in web interface is enough for me most of the time. Now I'm considering to use it as my default Twitter client. And once the pagination is back, everything will be perfect.
